The base oil matters for babies. Most sunscreens use standard mineral oil or silicone bases. This formula uses organic apricot kernel oil — one of the gentlest carrier oils available — chosen specifically because it minimises irritation risk on the most delicate skin.

SPF 30 blocks approximately 97% of UVB rays (SPF 50 blocks about 98%). The difference is minimal. For babies, gentleness is the priority — SPF 30 allows an ultra-mild formulation that's less likely to cause a reaction on sensitive newborn skin. For older, more active children, the Pure Zinc Kids SPF 50 steps up the protection.

The air pump tube dispenses with one hand — useful when you're holding a wriggling baby. Apply to your own hands first, then smooth onto baby's face, ears, neck, and exposed limbs. The formula spreads easily with gentle rubbing and sets to a lightweight, invisible finish.

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Spread evenly over all exposed areas, taking care around eyes.
